According to the Consumer Contract Regulations, your right to cancel an order begins the moment you place an order or 14 days after the day your goods are delivered to you, your named neighbor or the designed place.
You must be able to cancel an order at the point of sale. For example, it can be via an online contact form. You can cancel an order online by writting a message, by fax or email. A cancellation form must also be made available, although it is important to follow the process that the retailer has set up.
The retailer should not make it unnecessarily difficult to cancel an online order. For example, you do not need to call to provide authorization to return an item. You should also not be informed that items cannot be returned unless you have a cancellation code.
Check the retailer's Terms and Conditions and return policy, as they generally define the return process, which will be especially relevant to you if the order is already in transit and you need to return it as soon as it is delivered.
If your order is already in transit, you probably won't be able to cancel it before it reaches you. But, remember that you still have the right to cancel the item for up to 14 days after receiving it. After confirming with the retailer that you want to cancel your order, you will have 14 more days to return it.
If you no longer need to ship your order, you can cancel it and request a refund. Please note that to be eligible for a refund, you must:
If the T&C or return policy does not establish who pays for returns, the Consumer Contracts Regulations state that the retailer must cover the cost of postage.
Be sure to check if the retailer will arrange the collection of the goods or cover your postage costs.
The Consumer Contracts Regulations also state that you must obtain a refund within 14 days after the retailer receives the goods back or you provide proof that you have returned the goods (for example, proof of postage at the post office) - which occur first.
If you cancel your order, the retailer must refund your money within a maximum of 30 days. A deduction can be made if the value of the goods has been reduced as a result of you handling the goods more than necessary.
There are several reasons why you may want to cancel the delivery or collection of packages. In the case of placing the incorrect dimensions and / or weight, you must notify the mail as soon as possible.
In most cases, when the weight or dimensions of the package exceed the order amount, you will probably have to place another order. The reason for this is that the service may change depending on weight and dimensions as the price and postage may change, which is why a new order is the best way forward.
Perhaps you are traveling or even moving and have to leave your address sooner than expected. You can always try to change the collection address so that you can still deliver the package to the mail. Or maybe you know someone who could deliver the shipment on your behalf.
Retailers must deliver within the time promised in their contract. So, check your original order to see the time frame outlined.
If no deadline is agreed for delivery, the Consumer Rights Act says that retailers must deliver their item within 30 days of ordering. This also applies to goods purchased in person.
So, if you've been waiting a long time for something you bought to arrive and your products haven't arrived after the specified deadline, you can cancel your order and get a refund.
According to the Consumer Contract Regulations, your right to cancel an online order for goods begins the moment you place your order and ends 14 days from the day the goods are delivered to you, your named neighbor or to your approved safe location. You then have 14 more days from the date you notified the retailer that you were canceling your order to return the goods.
You can also cancel if the retailer does not provide the products or services within a reasonable time. What constitutes a reasonable time depends on the item you purchased. Retailers generally do not specify a time limit for delivery, so defining what is reasonable can be tricky.
But if you have an estimated delivery time of seven days and you are waiting for 20 days, this can be seen as an excessive period of time to wait for delivery.
The Consumer Contract Regulations clearly state that you must obtain a refund within 14 days after the retailer receives the goods back or you provide proof that you have returned the goods (for example, proof of postage at the post office) - which occur first.
If you cancel your order, the retailer must refund your money within a maximum of 30 days. A deduction can be made if the value of the goods has been reduced as a result of you handling the goods more than necessary.
